April 20: Eleven NSW Institute of Sport athletes have been named in the Australian track & field team for the 2010 Commonwealth Games in India. The Australian Commonwealth Games Association yesterday accepted the first round of nominations from Athletics Australia for the team that will compete in October this year.
Several NSWIS athletes produced standout performances at the 2010 Australian Athletics Championships in Perth over the weekend, most notably NSWIS long jumper Fabrice Lapierre.

January 18: World class divers Melissa Wu and Scott Robertson have joined the NSW Institute of Sport (NSWIS) as part of the newly established diving International Training Program (ITP), led by NSWIS Diving Program Head Coach Chava Sobrino, it was announced today.
Wu, who claimed a silver medal in the women's synchronised 10m platform at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, and Beijing Olympian Robertson relocated from Queensland to join Olympic gold medallist Matthew Mitcham and dual Olympian Alexandra Croak at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre.

November 19: Discus queen Dani Samuels and the king of Wheelchair Track & Road Kurt Fearnley are tonight the toast of NSW sport after gaining top honours at the glittering 2009 NSW Institute of Sport Annual Awards Dinner at the Australian Jockey Club in Sydney.
Samuels, at 21, became the youngest ever discus winner at this year's World Athletics Championships in Berlin with two monster throws - bettering her personal best on two occasions to win the Communities NSW, Sport and Recreation Female Athlete of the Year.
