September 2: The Surf Life Saving season "unofficially" kicks off tomorrow night (Friday, September 3) with the annual Adam Neville Memorial AFL showdown between the Currumbin Vikings and North Burleigh Surf Clubs.
The event now in its eighth year is played in memory of Adam Neville, one of Australia's most respected young surf lifesavers who died suddenly in October 2001 aged 24.

EMILY SELIG'S YOUTH OLYMPIC GOLD IN 200M BREASTSTROKE Swimming AOC, August 21:The Australian swim team has saved the best ‘til last claiming five medals, including a gold to Victoria's Emily Selig, on the final day of competition at the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore.
