WHAT'S YOUR GREATEST ASSET? Courage and Determination
HAVE ANY OF YOUR FAMILY REPRESENTED AUSTRALIA OR PLAYED SPORT AT A NATIONAL LEVEL? Yes, my sister Kirsten will be representing Australia at the Commonwealth Youth Games in India for weightlifting
WHO HAS BEEN THE BIGGEST INFLUENCE IN YOUR LIFE AND WHY? My Mum because she sacrifices for me, drives me everywhere, gives me support and encouragement and she shares all the ups and downs with me. My sisters and brother are also big influences in my life because they give me so much support and sacrifice so much for me to be able to dive.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOURSELF IN 3 WORDS? Determined, committed, tough
HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE REMEMBERED? As a good role model, a good diver and a good person
DIVING CAREER ULTIMATE GOAL: Olympic gold medal
PERSONAL AMBITIONS: To do well at school, and pursue a career as a writer or in the media
HAVE YOU ENCOUNTERED ANY OBSTACLES DURING YOUR DIVING CAREER? In 2003 I broke my arm terribly and suffered permanent nerve damage. I was out of the water for approx six months. As a result my elbow gets quite sore when I dive.
WHAT AGE DID YOU START DIVING AND WHY? 10. I tried gymnastics for a couple of months and didn't like it so I gave diving a try
FAVOURITE DIVER AND WHY? Scott Robertson because not only is he my best friend, but because he has had to overcome so many obstacles in his diving career, especially this year. He has broken the same wrist twice and he is currently still diving with a broken wrist. He trains hard and is a great person to be around. He shows strength and determination everyday and he very rarely complains. He is a great role model to me and I have learnt so much from him.
NOTABLE QUOTE: "Strong minds suffer without complaining; weak minds complain without suffering."
