One Day To Go: Australian Dolphins ready to compete in Cairns

 

 

Swimming Australia: August 8, 2018: After a week of training and preparation in Cairns, our Australian Dolphins are ready to be welcomed by the community of Cairns as they compete at the 2018 Pan Pacific Para Swimming Championships (Para Pan Pacs).

The Tobruk Memorial Pool in Cairns will host Australia’s Paralympic heroes from tomorrow (August 9) until Saturday August 13 as they set the pool alight in their quest for glory at the 2018 Para Pan Pacs. The 2018 Para Pan Pacs is brought to the Cairns community by the support of the Cairns Regional Council.

The Para Pan Pacs is an opportunity to see stars coming off incredible performances at the recent 2018 Commonwealth Games, including gold medallists Lakeisha Patterson, Brenden Hall, Tim Disken, Jesse Aungles and silver and bronze medallists Blake Cochrane, Paige Leonhardt and Ellie Cole.

Fans will also get to witness some of the Dolphins young guns who are making a big splash in the pool including Monique Murphy, Rowan Crothers and Tiffany Thomas-Kane.

Fellow Dolphin Bronte Campbell will make it down to the Tobruk Memorial Pool on Saturday 11 August to host Club Relays at 3pm and meet spectators and fans from the Cairns community.

Marked as the pinnacle event on the 2018 Paralympic swimming calendar, spectators and the community of Cairns will be in awe of these world-class athletes taking on the rest of the world.

Entry to the 2018 Pan Pacific Para Swimming Championships is open to the general public and FREE. Heats commence at 10am and finals from 5pm.
