BUSY NATIONAL CALENDAR FOR AUSTRALIAS TRIATHLETES

Triathlon Australia, July 1, 2013: Triathlon Australia’s recently released 2013-14 National Calendar features a busy schedule that will see many triathletes vie for National Championship honours and eventual qualification and selection for the prestigious World Championships.

The jam-packed calendar includes key events held across Australia within the membership year, culminating in various National Titles as well as specific World Championship qualification events.

National Championships will held for Age Groupers in Sprint, Olympic and Long Distance triathlons; Duathlon, Aquathlon, Paratriathlon and Cross Triathlon as well as a National Junior Championship Series and National Championships for Under 23s and elite athletes.

There are up to eight high quality Age Group qualifying races held around Australia for Sprint, Olympic and Long distance events as well as for Duathlon.

National Championships for Age Groupers are worth double points for World Championship qualification while Paratriathlon and Cross Triathlon National Championships act as stand alone qualification events.

World Championship team qualifiers earn the right to compete in the SCODY Green & Gold uniform when they represent Australia at the Age Group World Championships.

The 2013 World Championships for Sprint, Olympic, Aquathlon, Paratriathlon, Juniors, Under 23s and Elites (Grand Final) will be held in London in September at the ITU World Triathlon Championships with Edmonton, Canada to host the 2014 ITU World Championships.

TRIATHLON AUSTRALIA INSIGNIAS: All National champions are awarded with distinguished National Champion insignia to wear with pride on their race suits and Australians who win a World Championship are presented with TAs special World Champion insignia.
