Paratriathletes – Inspiration personified
Triathlon Australia, January 13, 2014: It was a case of inspiration personified when 33 of Australia’s bravest athletes put their disabilities behind them, conquering their fears and overcoming their amazing hurdles at the 2014 Australian and Oceania Paratriathlon Championships at Penrith yesterday.
Photographer Keith Hedgeland was on hand at the picturesque Regatta Centre, home of the Sydney 2000 Olympic rowing and canoeing, from 6.30am to capture a group of remarkable athletes, some who will wear the green and gold when Paratriathlon makes it debut at the 2016 Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Congratulations to all at Triathlon Australia, Triathlon NSW and the ITU as well as the countless volunteers who were there to make this event a huge success.
To every triathlete who conquered the course, take a bow!
