It is the largest age-group prize ever awarded in Australian triathlon history and an attractive incentive for triathletes aged 16 years and over.

Nissan Australia’s State Manager Northern, Jeff Bennett is delighted to partner with Triathlon Queensland to offer its members this amazing one off opportunity.

“Our partnership with Triathlon Queensland has been all about finding ways of rewarding members who support the association and its development of the sport in Queensland,” Mr Bennett said.

“We couldn’t think of a more exciting way of doing this than simply entering the Sprint Distance Championships at Redcliffe on April 6 and potentially driving away in a brand new Nissan vehicle.”

Triathlon Queensland CEO Tony Compier couldn’t agree more, praising both Jeff Bennett, Business Development Manager Northern, Marcel Lal and their team.

“The commitment Jeff and the team at Nissan, led by Marcel have bought to this partnership in wanting to give back to the sport has been amazing,” Mr Compier said.

“To provide the largest age-group prize ever awarded in Australia that rewards our members for their contribution to the association is just fantastic.”

If the prospect of driving away in an all-new X-Trail is not enticing enough this is also the final event of the Nissan State and Club Championships.

With the club competitions being hotly contested every point earned is crucial in deciding the small, large and overall Queensland club champions.

The event is also the last chance in Australia to earn National Qualifying points for both Sprint Distance and Paratriathlon categories to represent Australia at the 2014 Age Group World Championships held in Edmonton, Canada (August 26-31).

Triathlon Queensland says the possibility of driving away in an all-new X-Trail is sure to see plenty of interstate competitors flocking to Redcliffe to pick-up those vital last qualifying points.

The All New Nissan X-Trail – like triathletes – performs in all conditions – city, beach, bush and snow and one lucky triathlete will drive away from Redcliffe with this brand new trailblazer. Entries will be opening on Monday the 24th of February at 9am with a 48 hr Triathlon Queensland Member priority entry period. On Wednesday the 26th of February at 9am entries will be open to all Triathlon Australia Members and general public until Monday the 31st of March at 11:59pm, unless sold out prior.
