BRITISH GIRL JODIE STIMPSON’S YOKOHAMA TUMBLE – CAPTURED BY DELLY CARR
Triathlon Australia, May 19, 2014: You know the thing about sport’s photographers..the best of the best seem to be in the right place at the the right time all of the time and when it comes to triathlon Australia’s Delly Carr continues to be the man.
When Great Britain’s World Ranked number one Jodie Stimpson went for a tumble alongside Australia’s own Emma Moffatt coming into T2 in last Saturday’s ITU WTS Triathlon race in Yokohama, Carr and his motor-drive went into over-drive to capture the moments with these five amazing images.
To her credit Stimpson picked herself up and finished the race in ninth place, with a cut foot (Have a close look at Photo number 3) and the aftermath (photo courtesy TriathlonLive) to prove she is one tough chick.
Stimpson, trained by Aussie coach Darren “Coach Daz” Smith in san Diego maintains her World Ranked Number one going into her home town race in London in a fortnight and along with fellow Brit Helen Jenkins has emerged as the gold medal favourite for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in July.
Also check out Delly’s photo finish when duelling Spaniards Javier Gomez and Mario Mola ran for the lives with sub 30 minute 10ks with Gomez timing his finish to perfection from Mola and the impressive South African Richard Murray, with Britain’s Brownlee boys Alistair and Jonathan fourth and fifth – the first Brownlee-less podium since the pair first started in the ITU circuit.
