Triathlon Australia launches 2015-2016 National Calendar
Triathlon Australia, July 3, 2015: Triathlon Australia has launched its Australian National Calendar website featuring events from up coming ITU World Championships to its extensive schedule of National multisport events over what will be an action packed 18 months of racing.
Australia will host:
- The 2015 ITU World Duathlon Championships;
- The 2016 ITU World Cross Triathlon Championships;
- Next year’s ITU World Triathlon Series round on the Gold Coast in the countdown to;
- The 2018 ITU World Championships and Commonwealth Games also on the Gold Coast.
In between, Australia’s Elite, Under 23, Junior, Paratriathlon and Age Group triathletes will contest the National and Oceania Championship selection and qualifying races for the 2016 ITU World Championships and the 2016 Olympics and Paralympics.
The National Calendar is made up of all of those key high quality events held across Australia each year that hold elevated status and opportunity for triathletes Australia wide.
Specifically the calendar incorporates the National Championship races for all multisport disciplines, Qualifying Races for Age Group World Championships, the Junior Triathlon Series, Elite Calendar and Paratriathlon events in Australia.

MAJOR EVENTS IN AUSTRALIA:These events will provide fantastic spectator opportunities and a chance to watch the best triathletes in the world race up close and personal.
ELITE NATIONAL CALENDAR: The elite national calendar includes races in Australia that hold National Championship status, Oceania or International Triathlon Union status and points for athletes who hold a professional licence. Often held alongside age group events, they offer a fantastic opportunity to watch the big Australian names compete.
2015-2016 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS: National Championship races are held in each multisport discipline for age group, elite, under 23, Junior and Paratriathlon categories.
QUALIFYING RACES FOR AGE GROUP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS: For selection on the 2016 Australian Age Group ITU World Championship team.
PARATRIATHLON EVENTS:There are three Paratriathlon Qualifying events that will offer points towards selection onto the Open Paratriathlon team for the 2016 Mexico ITU Open Paratriathlon World Championships, MEX from September 11-18 2016. This includes the National Paratriathlon Championship, which holds double selection points.
2016 JUNIOR TRIATHLON SERIES: The top tier series for athletes holding an ITU Junior licence, with each event awarding series points towards the overall series title.
