Brielle Cooper headlines “girl power” coaching team for 20th Super Surf Camp
SUPER SURF CAMPS, December 20, 2017: Nutri-Grain Ironwoman Series leader Brielle Cooper will headline a “girl power” coaching group for this week’s 20th anniversary of the annual Christmas Holidays Super Surf Camp at Currumbin.
Cooper returned to Kurrawa this season at the urging of Ironman legend Dean Mercer, who died tragically in September from a cardiac arrest at the wheel of his car.
The winner of two rounds at Queenscliff and Wollongong will be joined by Currumbin Vikings trio, Tara Coleman and sister act Amy and Karlee Nurthen, who was third to Cooper at Wollongong on Sunday.
More than 150 Nippers will converge on Currumbin Beach Vikings Junior SLSC for the annual Camp on Thursday and Friday, December 21 and 22.
Camp co-ordinator Tylah Dowker is excited to have so many youngsters signed up to learn from some of the best ironwomen in the country.
“We have an action packed two days planned with epic Kracka Surfcraft and Kozii Swimwear giveaways, alongside our superstar coaching line-up,” Dowker said.
“The girls will be passing on their foundation of knowledge and skill set to the up and coming generation of Nippers – and who knows there may well be a budding Brielle Cooper, Tara Coleman or an Amy or Karlee Nurthen amongst them.”
