A delighted Cooly Rocks On Festival Operations Manager Bob Newman said the final figure would be confirmed later in the week but he proclaimed the day a huge success.

Over 250 people attended the day with over 150 rock ‘n' rollers treated to four hours of entertaining rock ‘n' roll and rockabilly music.

The day started with a colourful display of over 30 cruisers and hot rods with Cooly Rocks On Car Committee chairman Steve Bowman organising a wonderful afternoon of show ‘n' shine.

Dance Party MC Dee Jay Jimmy D kick-started the toe-tapping, interspersed with wonderful performances from The Chevrolets, Forever Everly, ‘Diamond' Doug Wilshire and the Tailspinners, Snap, young Gold Coast big band Toe Jammin', with Gold Coast's ‘Mr Entertainment' Dean Vegas providing a spectacular finale of Elvis Presley's smash hits.

"It was great for Cooly Rocks On to provide a community based event to raise blue_car photo crojpg.jpgfunds for our less fortunate cousins who have been devastated by the floods," said Mr Newman.

"I know everyone associated with Cooly Rocks On was so keen to come along and let the people know that the rock ‘n' roll nostalgia communities were right behind the flood victims.

"On behalf of the Committee I would like to thank all our supporters, sponsors, suppliers, volunteers and entertainers who provided their services for a great cause."
