MOOLOOLABA CROWNED OUTRIGGER KINGS OF COOMERA
OUTRIGGER CANOE,February 6: The drive and depth of Mooloolaba Outriggers shone through over the three-day AOCRA National Outrigger Sprint Championships on Coomera Lake at Oxenford which wrapped up today on the Gold Coast.
The Sunshine Coast powerhouse dominated every division, winning the overall pointscore as well as the senior and junior pointscore totals.
Mooloolaba ran away with the overall title in an all-Queensland finish, amassing 405 with Brisbane (177) second and Canoe Point (Gladstone) third.
In the senior pointscore it was Mooloolaba who just managed to hang on winning with a total of 141 points to Brisbane (135) and Northcliffe (65).
Mooloolaba's juniors (264) were far and away the most dominant of any club, with Canoe Point (96) second and Brisbane (42) third.
In today's action it was the Mooloolaba crews who filled the first three placings in the Under 19 Mixed OC6 1000 and the first two placings in the Under 16 Mixed OC6l the under 19 Mixed V12 and the Men's Masters OC6 1000m
There were also gold medals won in the Men's Open V12 500; Senior Masters OC6 1000m; Women's Senior Masters OC6 1000m; the Under 14 Mixed OC6 500m and the Mixed Open V12 500m.
