Volleyball, September 24: Volleyball Team Australia has maintained its unbeaten record after the third round of the 16th Asian Men's Championships with a one-sided, straight sets win over Turkmenistan in Tehran, Iran overnight.

The Australians produced a high level of play with good focus from start to finish to win 25-14, 25-12, 25-17 and followed first and second round wins over Korea and Qatar.

Australia excelled in service reception passing at 2.66 and 74 percent perfect which allowed the setters to run a very effective offence which they did to great effect as the team sided out in reception attack at 65 percent kill.

Turkmenistan struggled to find any offensive rhythm as the fifth-seeded Aussies served and blocked exceptionally well and created numerous break points in a very one sided match.

The win has secured the Australians first place in Pool D and they now take on Sri Lanka tomorrow (Sunday) followed by top seeded China on Monday to decide rankings in the seeding pool prior to the Quarter final round.

The Championships will continue this week with the finals set for Thursday.
