STATEMENT FROM SLSA: RELOCATION OF 2012 AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS 4PM
March 29, 2012: Organisers of the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships have announced the resumption of competition from tomorrow, 30 March 2012.
The entire event except first aid competition will be relocated to a contingency site at North Kirra.
Surf Life Saving Australia CEO Brett Williamson said the decision was made primarily out of respect for, and the welfare of, competitors, officials and the broader surf lifesaving community."
"The Competition Committee has considered extensive information with our risk assessors, athletes and the Maroochydore Surf Life Saving Club, prior to the final decision being made to relocate to North Kirra and complete the Championships.
Surf Boat, R&R and beach events will commence at 8am and all other events at 9.30am.
