2013 AUSTRALIAN SURF LIFESAVING CHAMPIONSHIPS MEDIA INFORMATION

SURF LIFE SAVING, APRIL 11, 2013: The 2013 Australian Surf Life Saving Championships – The Aussies – will be staged at North Kirra Beach on the Gold Coast from April 15-21 – seven days of elite surf sports competition featuring Australia’s best surf lifesavers from under 15s to the Elite Open and Masters.

The official Pre Aussies Press Conference will be held at North Kirra (in the VIP Marquee on the beach situated 150m to the right of the Nth Kirra SLSC. Follow signs to Media Centre) next Tuesday, April 16 featuring Surf Sports champions – Shannon Eckstein, Courtney Hancock, Naomi Flood and Brodie Moir. Details below.

ACCREDITATION: Only working media will be issued with media accreditation. Once issued with accreditation working media will be issued with a different coloured daily wrist band and media bib to be worn at all times. Different coloured wrist bands will be issued on a daily basis from the Media Centre.

MEDIA CENTRE: The Media Centre will be situated on the beach to the south of the North Kirra Surf Club (off the end of Pacific Pde and Musgrave St). Will be open between 7am and 7pm daily from Sunday April 15 to Sunday April 21.

PARKING: Parking available at Airport Car Park with shuttles running between the carnival precinct and the Car Park.

OFFICIAL SPOKESMEN/WOMEN:

-          Adam Weir (SLSA Coastal Risk Manager )will provide the day’s weather forecast, swell conditions etc. Adam will be made available at the official Media Launch (Tuesday 16th 11am North Kirra) to any media who wish to have the top class safety and risk management practices of the Aussies explained to them.
