KY HURST MISSES IRONMAN FINAL
Surf Life Saving Australia, April 6, 2014: Kurrawa's Four-time champion Ky Hurst is a shock elimination from today's Australian Ironman Championship final at Scarborough Beach in WA.
Hurst, who won a record 10th National open surf race championship yesterday was 11th in the first semi-final won by Manly's Nathan Smith.
The top eight in each semi-final qualified for the final, set down for 2pm (WA time) this afternoon.
Another to miss the final was last year's silver medallist Tanyn Lyndon from Northcliffe who was ninth in the first semi-final.
Five-time winner Shannon Eckstein cruised into the final winning the second semi ahead of 2013 bronze medallist Jackson Maynard from Currumbin ahead of Dane Farrell from Elouera.
