FLOOD GATE OPENS

Manly's Naomi Flood has today added the prestigious Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Iron Man Series crown to her impressive list of titles - but she had an anxious wait after finishing last in the six-woman final.

Flood, 22, held a six point lead over Courtney Hancock and Kristyl Smith coming into the final round.

But it was defending champion Elizabeth Pluimers who did Flood the biggest favour by winning the final from Alicia Marriott and Smith - giving Flood her maiden Series crown.

Smith, who won the opening two rounds, finished second on countback from Pluimers.

Flood will now chase the NSW and Australian titles before representing Australia in South Africa later next month.
