GET DOWN AND GET SANDY WITH NATALIE COOK
November 4: Spectators at Kurrawa Beach for Sunday's Coolangatta Gold can get down and get sandy with Olympic beach volleyball gold medallist Natalie Cook - who has her sights set on a record fifth Olympics in London.
As part of the Coolangatta Gold on beach activites, the four-time Olympian will team up for the first time with Australian Indoor Volleyball captain Tara West in a special double elimination format in the Sandstorm Beach Volleyball Tournament.
It will feature eight men's and eight women's teams in fields that includes 10 athletes who have represented Australia and leading internationals from Denmark and Great Britain. Queensland's number two women's team, Nicole Solomon & Candice McCarthy will be keen to take it to Cook and her beach rookie partner, West.
There will also be crowd interaction games conducted throughout the day, giving spectators the chance to get sandy with the pros.
Action starts from 8.00am and run through till 3.00pm.
The Beach Volleyball is part of the Coolangatta Gold on beach activities that also includes Saturday's Fastest Man On Sand and Sunday's Junior Coolangatta Gold, both hosted by Surf Life Saving Queensland.

Open to age groups from under-11 to open, each round of the series sees on average 600 competitors compete in the full complement of beach events including flags, sprints and relays showing the strong contingent of beach athletes in Queensland.

The 2010 Junior Coolangatta Gold Endurance Ironperson Event/s will be for U14, U15 and U17 Male & Female competitors (age groups for the 2010/2011 season).

This year will see members of the Great Britain Olympic Beach Volleyball Team, members of Denmark Olympic Beach Volleyball Team and of course our very own Olympic Gold Medalist Nat Cook all playing in the Tournament which is seriously exciting entertainment for all to come see.
